Welcome to the Old Village of Mount Pleasant, SC

Also known as Old Mt. Pleasant, the Old Village boasts picturesque views of the Charleston Harbor and Shem Creek dating back to the 1800's. Imagine century old oak trees draped in Spanish moss lining the charming streets of this celebrated village. Locals, calling themselves "OV-ers", can be found walking the streets and riding bikes to meet friends at nearby eateries, parks, and community buildings. An eclectic mix of multi-million dollar waterfront homes to smaller picket fence cottages can be found in this desirable Mount Pleasant neighborhood.

Historic Pitt Street is home to some of the most popular restaurants and shops in all of Mt Pleasant. Just a block from the water, you will find the Post House Restaurant and Inn, the Village Bakery, and the famous Pitt Street Pharmacy, where an old fashioned ice cream soda is still available. Ample parking is available and you will almost always see locals meeting up with friends for a bite to eat.

Parks in the village include the old Pitt Street Bridge, a popular fishing and walking spot, Alhambra Hall and Waterfront Park, and other green spaces throughout. Tucked away off Mt Pleasant’s vibrant Coleman Boulevard, the Old Village is just minutes to area beaches, excellent schools, downtown Charleston, and the Patriots Point marina and golf course -- placing high demand on Old Village real estate. The Hibben House in Old Village, Mt Pleasant

One of many historical markers in Mount Pleasant's Old Village, 123 Hibben Street was owned by Jacob Motte, Charleston City Treasurer, according to a map dating back to 1777. It has been extensively renovated and modified.
